At the G7 Climate Ministerial, which brings together the leaders of the world’s richest economies, these countries must acknowledge the severe deficiencies in their existing emission reduction targets and demonstrate their global leadership by committing to lowering their greenhouse gas emissions by at least 58% by 2030.

With just over a month to go before Antigua and Barbuda welcomes hundreds of delegates for the 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States, an intense period of training is underway to prepare volunteers for their various roles in helping to make the conference a success.

Globally, the clean energy sector is growing exponentially with clean energy employment surpassing that of fossil fuels in 2021, according to the IEA World Energy Report 2023. This presents significant opportunities for small island developing states, and climate policy experts are calling for the Caribbean region to get ahead of the curve on a just transition.

SIDS Children and Youth Action Summit, to be held in Antigua, launched in Barbados Bridgetown, Barbados, 11 May 2024 – A first-of-its-kind summit placing young people at the forefront of discussions on the challenges facing Small Island Developing States (SIDS) was officially launched on Monday.
